Why is Strategy important in Digital Media?

Strategy is important no matter what you're doing in life. When deciding how to go about digitizing you're advertisement there is a certain way to go about it. Strategy as some would define is about making complete decisive choices.


Some would argue that there is a different type of strategy or method when deciding how to plan out the way to appeal to your specific customer, "What hasn't changed is that your strategy needs to be about hard choices: what products and services you offer and what you don’t, who your customers are and who they are not..." Strategy and claims making strategy for digital media are the same as any chess game or football approach. Assessing research with the best intention to achieve your spread of the message directly to your target audience is to know what appeals to them. I believe that if you are not in the same demographic as your target audience the best way to get to know them is by holding surveys, polls, and focus groups.


Digital Strategy is important and a beast of its own, some would argue, because of what older people call digital corruption. Brilliant Metrics claims, "The first step in creating a digital strategy is to understand your objectives. This is key, as an understanding of your objectives will dictate the type of digital media program you run: direct response or brand awareness. Understanding objectives give your team the clarity and direction they need to allocate resources, make optimizations that improve KPIs and tie your strategy back to specific business objectives." Brand awareness is a critical step in understanding which way to go about determining how to advertise a product. Understanding these steps is key in having a successful and high-profiting ad. The necessary research behind your product will enhance the efficiency so much more.
